Self-sufficiency will be impossible with a three-person staff. The plan as it stands is a disaster for this fine facility which is loved by so many in this community. Think of the children who are inspired by the science they find within. You are putting yet one more obstacle in their path to futures in engineering, geology, hydrology, meteorology, and so many more, including academia.

I a museum exhibit designer, president of the Paleontological Society and foremost a resident of Austin and it pains me to imagine this honored institution closing. And as a museum proffesional I certainly cannot see it surviving on the budget that would be remaining after these cuts.

Speaking as a former teacher and school principal of nearly twenty years, during this period observed hundereds of students enjoy the many teaching resources displays offered by the Texas Memorial Museum. Closing this unique resource would be a GREAT loss and mistake!
