This museum meant a lot to me as a child and influenced my career path. Now I take my clients there regularly and they love it. I hope it stays open and continues to have people around to answer questions.

This is the only comprehensive natural history museum in the region, and there is much wonder and education to be experienced within its walls. More people should come here, instead of the stinking clubs of the downtown music district. It was a formative place in my youth and many others.

I have enjoyed comingto the museum since before I was in elementary school. I have taken so many friends and out of town guest, and now that I am expecting my first child, I was looking forward to showing her, too. The fossils have always been my favorite - please keep this available for Austinites to enjoy!

Please don't let this museum go. My son wants to be a paleontologist or geologist because of this museum. This is his FAVORITE place to visit in Austin. We would lose a truly great piece of our city. Charge entry fee or membership. I would gladly pay to keep this alive.

When first opened in 1938 this part of "The New Deal" was supposed to be the state museum for Texas. Under Gov. Connally the state appropriation was cut back and it was picked up by the university. TMM has always appealed to liberal thinkers. Conservatives do not like this and act accordingly when in power.
