Museums store our knowledge of the natural world - without this knowledge the future of our entire planet is at peril. Students must have access to the fine collections at TMM.

As an educational institution, you have an obligation to fund your research museum these unique collections will serve as a basis for research by scientists and students into perpetuity. Certainly, we require active management of collections by any institution permited to conduct research in Utah.

The TMM is an incredibly important part of the University of Texas, the state of Texas, and the city of Austin. It provides that crucial public face for the university and state funded research that goes on in Austin and Texas more generally. I realize that funds are hard to come by right now for the college of natural sciences, but if the TMM disappears so will the publics connection to the college, the UT collections, and the research being conducted. Please support this important institution because it is critical to the future of the university.

Texas Memorial Museum is a jewel on the crown for the University of Texas, a gem for the City of Austin and the State of Texas, an important place for public and school education, and a resource for the broader research communities of many scholarly and scientific fields. It would be a grave mistake to cut the budget of TMM, - this not only damages a fine and significant museum, but also the University of Texas.

I would rather cut funding to The Blanton. The Memorial Museum is the only place to see dinosaurs in Austin, and I cannot imagine our city without it.

I just moved to Boston from Austin TX where I lived for the past 6 years. My daughter loved this museum and it was a great place for us to go and learn. She still talks about some of the fossils she got to see there.

My family LOVES the museum and we rely on it as an educational resource. It would be a bug loss to our community; there is really nothing else like it in Austin!

Please honor the importance of Natural Sciences in our world. This is just as important, if not more so, than computer engineering, medicine, or, good grief, FOOTBALL!

This museum is a community resource and gem. Surely money can be found as in the scheme of things that piddly $625,000 is a drop in the University bucket. It is one of the best things that UT does for the community. The science education that goes on there is invaluable. Have the football program cough up some money from something. Football coach gets $5.5 million but you can't find just a bit of that to fund something that actually benefits people?

It is the only local public place to study fossils. It is the only local place for children to dream about what life would have been like during that time. Dreams create future careers. Please do not shut it down.

As a 4th generation Longhorn, I have been visiting this museum since I was a child and it is an incredible gift to the school and to the Austin community. It is such a treat to bring my daughter to it so she can connect with history in this deep way. Please keep this landmark of TX for all generations to come!
