When will we view nature as the precious and valuable resource that it is?

Against development proposals. The windy road is not equipped to deal with additional traffic. Its well used by farm vehicles locals, HGV traffic link to lakes and heavily used by bikers in summer - dangerous and busy enough thank you!!! ! Land itself may prove too unstable and costly to build on.. The village feel will be destroyed and the locality spoilt. Why destroy the lives of those who have worked hard to invest and live quietly here away from the town. Long Preston and Hellifield are not tourist villages.

Just been to SOCC meeting. My main concerns are the impact on the A65. I work in Settle and the drive to work is already very busy. How will it work having lots of cars pulling in and out of the entrance between Hellifield and Long Preston? I also found out at the meeting that the facilities, gym, cinema, bar etc. will only be open to people staying on the holiday park so it will not benefit local people at all. It will also ruin the countryside.

This proposal has nothing to do with housing. It'seems all about a profit generating scheme. There will be no benefit to the community. If approved the development will have an impact on wildlife and will cause greater pollution to the immediate area due to an increase vehicle movements. Why spoil an area of natural Beauty?

I am a guide on the Settle Carlisle railway and pass through this area of land every day. To see it developed on would be a huge shame as it would ruin a lovely, picturesque view which many tourists come to visit.
