Norden Open Space - Norwalk residents

Until the infrastructure is updated and traffic concerns are addressed please stop building large apartment/condo buildings and destination retail centers.

We need to be thinking long-term impacts of such allowances.

Leave a place for natural living

Westport denied permission for this development and so should Norwalk.

Stop building apartments in Norwalk. I'm a home owner, the more overcrowded Norwalk becomes the more I want to sell my property & move elsewhere.

I vote No. There is already to much over development of land in Norwalk.

Please vote no on this easement request as it is not to Norwalk's benefit.

We don't need any more development here in East Norwalk the traffic here is bad enough I love next to a condo and it's ruined our yard they said a lovely 6ft Birm and some nice bushes well we now have at least twenty foot Scottish pine trees Nd a big mess its disgusting my poor late Mother in law had to keep her kitchen light on all day when she was in there

The conservation easement should not be amended. It exists to protect the environment from overdevelopment and to conserve the wildlife habitat for future generations. Not to mention the increased traffic through East Norwalk for the proposed development!

Wetlands are vital natural resources and should be protected.

To amend or lift the easement now would be a clear breach of the public's trust. We simply can't have our land use and other regulatory bodies enact protective restrictions, and then expect us to watch like hawks for months, years, even decades later for some cryptic, ambiguous agenda item to tip us off to their shenanigans. With all due respect to our Ms. Cherichetti, the city's Senior Environmental Officer, a tiny legal notice in the local paper and a bare minimum, inadequately written agenda description simply won't cut it any more.... Norwalkers need to demand that ALL AGENDAS include the corresponding back up materials, and that the agenda item descriptions can be written so as to mislead the public. Grateful for the Westport neighborhood advocate for bringing this matter to our attention.

I was under the impression that wetlands are sacred to the environment/ecology and applications to change conservation easements are usually denied based on their importance to the ecology of the area.. The Norwalk Zoning commission needs to deny this application. Norwalk does not need the distinction of contributing to the world's climate crisis even for this small area. Every bit of wetlands is critical, no matter how small. Remember we have only 20 years to a global crisis in food, water, flooding, and deserts. We are already experiencing weather changes. Greta Thunberg, climate activist, would not support this change. Be kind to our Earth and deny this application. Additionally this opens up other applications to change conservation easements.

To amend this easement now undermines all future restrictive covenants that are meant to protect the public and the environment.
