Norwalk already has the lowest quantity of tree cover/green space of any town in the state by an enormous margin. Don’t make this problem worse.

Norwalk needs a full plant YMCA. The Norden site would suit it perfectly. Gymnasiums and pool/pools, all of what every YMCA is in every town that surrounds us.

The prior legal decisions to preserve the woods and wetlands should not be up for a new fight with residents every time a developer whines wanting to make more money off of us. Do we residents get to revisit prior decisions that were made in favor of developers whenever we want? If so then I'd like to request we remove some of the excessive development in Norwalk and replace it with trees and wooded area.
Of course we can't do that, so why can a developer come back asking for something different than what they got?
We actually needs more trees, more woods to lessen the highway noise and pollution. We need our natural environment preserved.
We sure don't need 187, or even 87, new homes and associated car traffic added to the Norden Pl/136/Strawberry Hill and side streets. Apartments are homes, complete with occupants who drive cars, use train station parking, get on East Ave, go to the beach, have kids in school. The developer made his choice and built what was ultimately allowed a few short years ago. There are both Westport and Norwalk residents who worked really hard on research, due diligence, and rallying neighbors to win preservation of what woods/wetlands are there. Is our City telling developers that "no" doesn't really mean "no", so long as a developer keeps up pressuring long enough?

We don’t need anymore cars getting off at exit 16 and causing congestion. Don’t forget they approved the factory outlet. We have enough to deal with in East Norwalk

We should maintain our priorities on Open Space. Development is a good thing. It just needs to operate within a construct that makes East Norwalk a better place to live and work,

Hi Linda, to be clear, the apartments in question are actually proposed to be built in Westport, literally across the border from Norwalk between Norden Place (Avalon complex) and Hiawatha Lane, Westport.
You may recall that Westporters and East Norwalkers joined forces a decade ago to advocate for reduced development at those sites. The conservation easements apparently gave us a false sense of security.
If you can, attend the public hearing this Tuesday, 12/10 at 7pm Norwalk City Hall Community Room.

Please stop building apartments in Norwalk. We don't have the infrastructure to support it all. We have enough of sewer back ups into the sound and the traffic is already unbearable.
Stop overriding our property protections like the walk bridge on the Historical list and now the Conservation Easement. Stop destroying East Norwalk. Even the rats are running for their lives.
