The emails to the command team continue to go unreturned but ignoring us does not make the history of this detachment go away. I have spent the last few shifts talking to former members who feel the same deep frustration about losing our heritage. We are not backing down because this name represents more than just a location on a map.

Seeing this level of support reminds me why we started this fight in the first place. The road ahead remains exhausting but I am grateful to have so many of you behind me.

Newport forever! simple as that.
Newport means everything to us. You cant just erase the history like it doesnt matter.
The legacy needs to stay intact. changing the name is a huge mistake for the lads.
I served there back in the day and itll always be Newport to me. Dont do this.
Disgraceful to even consider changing it. Keep the tradition alive.
