Rolo is my german shepard accused and unfairly convicted by lies and false evidence of biting a woman in Arvada last August. We are protesting the severity of the sentence compared to the severity of the crime. Because animal control officers and paramedics offically discribed the bite as a scratch. The judge sentenced this first time offender to death.
My dog Rolo has been incarcerated for more than 10 weeks at Table Mountain Animal Shelter in a small cage. Rolo is not allowed out of his cage ever, or to have any human contact except for when I can visit him. Rolo\'s physical and mental health is deteriorating while waiting for an appeal.
The foot dragging that the city of Arvada Co. appears to be intenional. It has been suggested from other judisdictions that some judges hold these cases off as long as possible because often these type of cases \"solve themselves\" over time. In the mean time my dog Rolo is developing physical and psychological trauma and it appears that the court may be waiting for me to voluntarily euthanize my dog. Maybe this way they will avoid the public outcries for wrongly ordering the death of my dog or the other side for letting my dog come home.
Reaching twenty-five hundred signatures will provide a clear signal to the city that Rolo is not forgotten by this community. Please take a moment today to send this petition to three people who believe that fairness should govern how we treat our animals. Your commitment keeps the pressure on those who currently hold his life in their hands.

Seeing this level of engagement reminds me that Rolo is not just a case file to the community. Your attention brings a necessary light to a process that has felt incredibly isolated until now.

Reaching one thousand signatures provides a profound reminder that Rolo is not facing this injustice alone. This level of public attention confirms that the situation in Arvada is being watched closely by those who value fairness. I am grateful for the perspective each of you brings to this difficult process.

This is WRONG. We have become such a litigious and intolerant society. When someone was bitten by a dog in my generation (a few decades ago) it was filed under "stuff happens," and no one got their panties in a bunch.

This is completely insane. A scratch is not a bite. Let the poor dog go home.

Poor Rolo. Keeping a dog in a cage for 10 weeks with zero interaction is cruel and unusual punishment. Justice for Rolo!

ARVADA NEEDS TO WAKE UP. Killing a family pet over a scratch is just wrong. stop this now.

Whatever happened to common sense? It was just a scratch for crying out loud. Free him.

My heart breaks for you and Rolo. This judge sounds like he has a major power trip going on. Keep fighting.
