Support staff help to provide a safe and encouraging learning environment for children. It would be madness to get rid of them just when teachers are already under enormous strain due to budget cuts.

This is such a worthwhile petition ,it seems so unfair putting the support staff at risk of compulsory redundancy they put their life and soul into their duty towards their children ,the pupils are always widely praised by local residence ,and this comes about by good tutoring .

Teaching Assistants are a vital part of children’s education... cuts in all directions are making life impossible for teachers and children alike. This is a step too far - their needs are being ignored and dismissed.

I worked for Moulsecoomb for a year and the support staff were an integral part of the wonderful staff. This school needs supportive, caring and resilient people like them and to take them out of the equation would be a travesty.
