Don’t deprive children of the opportunity to have catholic education. They lost their principal and now the school, please have mercy.

Closing of this Catholic school will have a detrimental impact on the future generations that would have gone to this school. Schools like this set a foundation of what a Christian lifestyle should be. As people of God these lives are on your hands!

My children are alumni from Mother Seton. The school is not only a foundation for their education but also for their growth in faith.

Your Eminence, Cardinal Tobin, I am saddened by the news that the Archdiocese of Newark has decided to close Mother Seton School. Having worked in the office as a volunteer for a few months, I witnessed that the door was never closed to any family for ANY reason. I’ve saw families rebuilt due to a word of faith received by the parents at the school. I’ve seen 4 alumni enter the seminary and explore the vocation to the priesthood. Every tree is known by his own fruit. This school has much more fruit to bear Your eminence! Moreover, the parish of Ss. Joseph & Michael uses school to hold the Confirmation program and Religious education programs for the public school children. Many children of the Union City School District have become acquainted with the program and receive the Sacraments. I have been working for many years w/the Board of Education and Mayor Stack for our children to have a better chance to become happy, productive members of society. As a faithful and practicing Catholic, I firmly believe that faith formation contributes greatly to achieve this goal. The closing of the school puts this mission in jeopardy in Union City. This school has not only benefit our parish families, but also has promoted the well-being of the Union City community. I sign this petition hoping that you can find a way to help keep the school open. As long as the doors of Mother Seton remain open, many more will come to know our Lord Jesus Christ in Union City. Please reconsider, I beg you. Do not close the school. Yours in Christ, Monica Brito

The only thing I have to say is that for each children that are in Catholic schools, the state saves about $10,000-$20,000 a year and the people that administrate the church is not capable to get grants from the state and the government for the poor children. We see that this is like a privilege for the poor to have a Catholic education in this diocese and the only thing they care about is money because they could sell this school property for millions of dollars instead of transmitting the faith to our children who are the future of the church. You could see the that faith has got a price that poor cannot afford. What's more important: money or faith? This is bad administration from the Archdiocese because they don’t teach their Catholic schools to have more affordable education for the poor. They only care about their own glory, not the glory of God.

School should stay open for students. They do not have time to register in another school.

Everybody looses with this tragic closure of Mother Seton School. Give the children a chance for their education. We adults help to rise the money needed. We knock politicians doors too. Just reconsider. Give everybody a chance.

This school, in its own way, was like Hogwarts from the Harry Potter books. fantastical in great ways, strengthened my views as a Catholic, and it's where I met some of my closest friends. Can't see this school shut down.

Please keep the school open. It is important to have a catholic presence in the area. Since there is no such schools in the area. The children and parents are very happy with the education and school staff. Please help us educate our children in a truly catholic manner. Thank you!
