Incredible to think we would destroy Midland Road. Some things in life just need to remain and those around need to appreciate and adapt. Born and raised in this town and although there have been accidents - it was usually due to driver error. Please do not destroy the beauty of our home town.

Respect and preservation of our state's historic Midland Road is paramount. A waste of taxpayer dollars is not. Stop destroying our state.

I agree that one stoplight at Hwy 22 would help. THAT'S IT. Save the beautiful tress!!!

Please consider alternative methods of improving safety on Midland Rd. It is an important feature of life in this area.

lower the speed limit (and enforce it) instead. Speeding summonses will also bring in more local revenue.

As for accidents, there are no documented unusual accident rates on Midland Rd, per the NCDOT Midland Rd Study (link is in petition). There are practical low-impact, far less costly options such as stop signs, street lights, lower speed limits with enforcement. Trees near the road are not a documented hazard. Trees don't cause accidents. People do, as you said so well. Hope you will consider sharing the petition with others.
