Save the trees

Preserve this area! It is ICONIC Southern Pines/Pinehurst! Don’t destroy something a future generation will want rebuilt to ‘recapture the heritage of the area’, because that will happen. Always does.

Midland Road should stay as is!!!

30mph limit. Close dangerous cut overs, keep the trees! We are not making our town any nicer nowadays and All we can do is try and keep it a nice place to live by slowing things down.

Do not destroy what has always been a beautiful pine lined road- keep our land beautiful and full of what was here before us!

A problem with closing crossovers is that it apparently justifies creating multi-directional intersections, road widening, and major tree removal at other points on Midland Rd. Certainly useless crossovers can be closed. As for traffic lights, a concern is installation of those huge ugly urban steel things with arms which may require tree removal and are eyesores. Better to suspend lights from inconspicuous wires. We will try to find out whether trees have to be removed from these locations in order to install traffic lights. Good suggestions; thanks!

Keep Midland Road basically as it is. Only remove dead or diseased trees. Set speed at 35mph and enforce it. No roundabouts. No pedestrian walk. Only close crossovers that do not inconvenience residents. Perhaps install traffic lights at Airport Road, entrance to Midland Country Club, Carolina Eye and NC 22.

DO NOT TAKE DOWN THE HERITAGE THAT MAKES MIDLAND ROAD WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!

For those who find Midland Rd unsafe--take another route to So.pines or Pinehurst! Incompetent drivers is not a reason to ruin Midland Rd !!

Thank you for signing. Stop signs at Hwy 22, on median and eastbound Midland, would solve the problem. Street light would be ok if did not involve tree removal and installation of one of those hideous huge metal things with arms - eyesores - instead of hanging lights on inconspicuous wires. More trees have been taken down in the past two weeks. Sneaky. It
