There is no forsrabke benefit to the changes. Instead would more likely have a negative effect on the area and the town.

I grew up in the Sandhills and spent many years driving and riding on Midland Rd. My family still lives there and when I travel back to visit, I love that Midland Rd still winds gracefully through Southern Pines and Pinehurst lines with beautiful pine trees! If there isn’t a measurable increase in accidents in that area that would warrant such a change, then it is certainly unnecessary and a complete missuse of resources.

Midland Road is one of the most important monuments in Moore County and connects its two most important municipalities. It’s history goes back to a time when the path was carved out by migrating buffaloes. It was also the first dual-lane road in North Carolina separated by a median. If you want to save lives, increase police presence, install turning signals or eliminate recreational use. Do not destroy a monument. If you don’t like it go around it.

Enforcement of the speed limit. It it busier at Carolina Eye than other places during the day but I believe reckless cell phone use, texting and speeding has added to the problem. .. Not the trees
