Thank you for signing! Yes, Midland Rd should be on national register of historic places. Unfortunately, wisdom does not usually prevail with DOT projects. They have already, in past two years, removed at least one-third of large trees lining Midland Rd. Local & State politicians have the power to stop NCDOT. Your voice is important. I am certain wisdom will prevail here and the beauty of this iconic stretch of road that distinguishes our area will be protected. It should be on the national register of historic places.

I am from here and this have been here way longer than anyone living here. People just need to slow down and drive the speed limit!!!!

Removing the trees will not resolve distracted and careless driving. Atleast the tree stops them from going into oncoming traffic and injuring or killing others!
