Petition Against the Discontinuation of Psychotherapy and Counselling Training Programmes at the University of Kent

We, the undersigned, strongly disagree with the discontinuation of psychotherapy, counselling and mental health studies at the University of Kent. We consider that the removal of the associated courses will have a detrimental effect from both a professional and service users’ perspective, taking into account that the University of Kent was the sole representative of this specialisation in the South East of England. We strongly urge the reconsideration of this decision.

Absolute madness to cut these courses given the current mental health crisis. Kent needs this programme.

Completed my training here a few years ago. The staff were brilliant and the clinical experience was vital. Cant believe they are getting rid of it.

So sad to hear this news. Kent was the only place offering real high quality training in the south east. This is going to hurt patients eventually.

this is such a massive loss for the area. mental health services are already pushed to the limit and we need more trained people, not fewer. please rethink this.
