Louv had an amazing impact on my high school career. His passion for teaching and fishing shined through in everything he taught. He enthusiasm for teaching government and politics sparks excitement into his students. I wonder how many students he has encouraged to register to vote over his career at FUHS? The thought of future students missing out on benefiting from Louv as a teacher is deeply saddening. I hope FUHS reconsiders their decision.

One of the best teachers I ever had at Fortuna High. One of the few that genuinely cares about his students in and out of the classroom. He actually made history and government interesting, which is a tough thing to do. I think a lot of students would have had no interest in learning and ultimately gone down different paths if it wasn't for Louv. This is a HUGE mistake from administration.

Louv was one of the few teachers that put effort into knowing his students outside of academics, his class was always enjoyable and he wanted his students to learn. Teaching isn't just his occupation, it's who he is, let him teach!

Taking Mr. Louv out the classroom is a terrible decision. I don't know how to put it any other way. Saying that he is an ineffective teacher is simple ignorance. Teaching subjects such as Government and Economics to a classroom full of seniors ready to graduate and head off into their own futures is a difficult task to complete, and well, I think he completed it just fine. It isn't just the academics that touches so many people; it's the compassion and willingness to truly care about his students that makes him such a great teacher. He understands that we all have issues and is willing to help and re-explain a concept, even when no one gets it; something most teachers don't do. He is able to connect with his classroom. Taking an inspiration such as he out of the school won't make anything better, it'll just make it worse in my opinion.

Mr. Louv is an outstanding man who had a major impact on my high school career as well as who I am today. He was an amazing teacher who not only taught great curriculum but also great life lessons. I would be honored for him to teach my future children and I believe it is a huge disservice to the community if he is removed from the class room. He has always been a very caring and compassionate person and I feel that he deserves so much better than this.

Louv was and is a great teacher. He doesn't and should not need to be taken outa the class room. He is more then a teacher to a lot of people. He is a friend, a mentor and best of all a great man. He puts his hart and soul in to kids that need it and ones that don't. Louv gives the most respect outa any teacher. I have seen loud respect and back kids 100% when that kid didn't respect louv. He helped me in high school so much and I learned a lot from this man. Please do not take louv outa the class Fortuna high. It is a very bad idea if u wana take someone outa the class room there are many other teachers that should be moved before louv. Please think about this.

I'm not a Husky or formally a Husky but I'm the parent of one and I have sat through Louv's orientation class for parents and I have listened to my Husky and her friends rave about this man as a teacher. I noticed his unorthodox ways right off the bat, but I also saw the gleam in his eyes and the passion he has for teaching. He's not just there for a paycheck. He loves what he does and that shows when the kids I talk to speak of him with such adoration. It may seem he's a push over to some people. But what he does is give these kids the space and freedom to grow to love learning. I had a couple teachers like him when I was in high school. They are the ones who stood out. They are the ones who made me look forward to going to school. They are the ones who inspired me to go off to college and succeed. Dragging a teacher this significant down is shear stupidity. Complete short sightedness and seriously needs to be rethought.

Mr. Louv was a great teacher to his students. He taught in ways for everyone to understand and if it was not clear to someone he put it another way so that they would understand. He wanted everyone in the classroom to learn. He also was a great mentor to his students in the fishing club. He needs to stay for the students!

Mike louv goes out of his way to be kind and patient to his students. To do his best to conform to the individuals needs while still getting the class to learn as a whole. Of all my teachers beside electives, he was the one that taught me the most, and his history class is by far the most ive retained.
