Mike Louv deserves his job more than anyone at that high school. He is a better teacher than half of the teachers and administration.

Louv was always one of my favorite teachers because he treated me like a person and always cared how I was doing, not just another head to get to a certain grade and out the door.

I learned so much during my time in Mr. Louv's history class. Not just about history, but also about being sensitive to people's learning styles, being passionate about what you love, and being accepting of others regardless of your differences. Mr. Louv was and is an amazing teacher and human being. I will forever have a special place in my heart for him. Hang in there, Louv!

I had Mr Louv in high school he was an awesome teacher and one of the only ones I remember too this day. He made class fun and he was a great guy.

W. Mike Louv is the only teacher at that school who is a friend to his students, who treats the students like like they're actual human beings. He cares. I haven't know much other teachers at that school who cared about what you had to say. He deserves his classroom.

I had Mr. Louv the first year he taught at Fortuna High. He was great then and with more experience, he's probably even better now. Small town politics have always been prevalent in Fortuna. It's all about who you know and who's in each others pockets - not what's best for the students or community. Thank you to our younger generation for questioning things that aren't right and standing up for what you belive in. Mr. Louv is a great example of that.

Mr Louv has the natural ability to connect with his students in a way most dont. He treats his students with respect and leaves favoratism at the door. He gets students engaged and excited about learning. Even in college I learned more from professors like Louv than the overly organized super structured classes I took that were based solely on the documents you produced like a robot. You can see the support of his former students from all walks of life. Not just the 4.0 students and star athletes. He made an impact on everyone because he is real to the core.

I graduated in 07 and mr.louv's class was my favorite. Mr.louv's put in lots of time with me in between classes, lunch and after to help me with texts. I struggled in school but he was one of the few teachers who cared enough to help in any way he could. He is the best.

Louv was the ONLY history teacher at FUHS that actually taught history with a passion and wanted his students to learn it because he loved it. There are other history teachers that I liked but it was obvious they were only going through the motions and teaching what the state required the students to learn. Louv is one of the few teachers that inspires his students to learn and enjoy what they are learning!

Mr. Louv is by far one of the best high school teachers at Fortuna High. Our community is fortunate to have a teacher that is so passionate about his work and that cares for his students. Teachers like Mr. louv are hard to come by. Removing him from his classroom is not only unfortunate for him but for those students who won't have the opportunity to be taught by such a wonderful human being.

Many friends I know have spoken of the effective methods Louv uses in his teaching to get through to students who do not find the American standard of a classroom environment conducive to their educational needs.
