I put the idea out there many years ago to start a fishing club and Louv was the teacher that helped us create and teach us outside of school on our adventures in nature. Always compassionate no matter what environment he's in and a genuine person. How lucky I am to have had him in high school.

To say Mr. Louv had an impact on people's lives is an understatement. One of the most influential teachers I have ever had, and a great mentor for kids to look up to. He instilled passion for history, political views, being involved in your community and country, and to succeed in life. He pushed you to care, research, and understand what you believed and didn't believe on certain subjects. He tought that everyone is equal and deserves to be treated as such, no matter if you're from a broken home nor the brand of clothes you're wearing. His class and himself as a teacher had a huge effect on my decision for my career and I'm forever grateful to him for showing support when I was struggling in my academics in other classes and having troubles in my personal life/friendships. Thank you Louv, you're awesome!!

I graduated in 2001 and had the pleasure of having him as my history teacher that year. He was an awesome teacher that made going to class fun. He had a way of connecting with his students and putting a spin on history to make it memorable and exciting. I hated history until I was in his class. Because of his enthusiasm to teach and his willingness to go out of his way to help each student he will always be one of my favorite teachers. One thing that he taught his students was to stand up for what they believed in. And I believe that he is an amazing and dedicated teacher the does make a difference.

Louv was the very best, and in my own personal instance, the most effective teacher I had all high school. If it weren't for him I would have stayed on independent study and not returned to the high school. Please don't take him away from the classroom.

My daughter failed history until she got Mr. Louv. Not only did she do great in his class, he also helped with with her make up history class which she did well in. I have only heard excellent things about Mr. Louv. I totally support Louv and he deserves to keep his assignment.

Louv is a wonderful teacher. He is caring and compassionate to all of his students but he is able to reach the most difficult at-risk students who do not fit believe in themselves.

Louv is the BEST teacher in this entire school. He cares about all his kids as if they were there his own if he notice a kid is in trouble or needs extra help he's there to help. I was looking forward to having him as a teacher next year

Mr. Louv was an amazing teacher. The community response to the administration's decision was overwhelming. With absolute agreement, everyone feels that taking Mr. Louv out of his classroom would be catastrophic for future generations. Everyone who gave an opinion on the issue on social media agreed that his class was the only one that alumni can recall to this day. You can see the impact he made.
Would the community reach out to do this for any of the other teachers? I don't know. I wouldn't take the time to.

I never had Louv but I remember everyone who did have him loved him, making me wish I was in his class too!
