Please widen the section of US HWY 395 between Adelanto and Inyokern, CA. It’s heavily traveled due to millions of visitors going to places such as, Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite each year. For the safety of those millions of people, please act now.
I personally drive it each weekend traveling southbound with my children to Southern California and it is a dangerous stretch of highway. No question about it. Thank you for listening.

I resently lost a friend and her husband on 395 because an impatient driver crossed the double yellow and caused a head on. It’s sad to think a person can fight hard to beat cancer just to be killed by an idiot in a car! Please widen 395! Save a few lives!

I used to drive this road everyday and can confirm that people pass on double yellow lanes over hills everyday. Almost everyday I drove that road i almost seen a head on.

On Friday March 23 I was headed south on 395 when I was suddenly face to face with a car head on in my lane who was trying to pass a long line of cars headed north. In a split second I swerved to the right fighting to keep on the small strip of pavement left to me without running completely off the road which would have caused me to flip and roll. I had to pull over to gather my wits and stop shaking. My husband and daughter were with me. I have to travel this road again today pray that all goes well.

This piece of road is very frustrating to drivers. Miles of no passing lanes, I know we've passed on these lanes any times. It is not difficult to make more passing lanes. Just scrape some of the sand away and put down black top. Voila...a new lane.

Please just build some passing lanes. I’ve only driven on that road maybe 5 times maximum and each time I’ve almost been hit head on by impatient drivers.
