It's time for someone to step up and repair this dieway. Far too many people have perished on this Highway and nobody in charge seems to care. Do something!

I have seen too many people ignore the no passing zone and seem too many close calls, as well as the aftermath of tragedies. It terrifies me to drive through that area on my way to visit my mom.

There were so many times that near-misses occurred when I lived in the area and traveled this road. Too many deaths and injuries. Please consider the investment in lives rather than "just a road."

Widen this road with lane dividers and other safegaurds. More and more trucks and impatient drivers are using this road every day. Most people driving this stretch of road have no idea how dangerous it can be. A solid double yellow line and rumble strips obvoisely mean nothing to people anymore and i would bet my left arm that all of these people have taken and passed all required drivers education courses and tests. I would bet all with flying colors too. I myself REFUSE to drive this road. Even if it means that I have to drive 30 minutes to an hour out of my way. I avoid this road at all costs. I even tell friends and loved ones to do the same. This road has to be fixed. We clearly cannot fix the ideodic driving habits of perfectly trained motor vehicle operators. It's sad to hear that most of the drivers that are the cause of these accident are the ones that get to walk away with their lives. Its almost murder. How many more innocent lives have to be lost before we realize that something has to be done about this road. Save lives on 395. Fix this road now!

CalTrans needs to focus on widening Hwy 395 and put a stop to wasting our taxpayer money on bullet trains to nowhere!

I don't understand how funds were made available to install tortoise fencing along a long stretch of the hwy but funding hasn't been available to widen the hwy in an effort to lessen accidents which could save lives.

I used to have to drive this road every day for school. They actually took away passing lanes when they were “fixing it”. The cars speed limit is 65 yet semi’s is 55. How is that situation NOT going to cause aggravation? Add in unfamiliar drivers to the road and you are toast. On the one passing lane between the 58 and Adelanto the trucks will end up passing each other and cars still get stuck. It is dangerous, scary and no need for it. There is plenty of desert to build. Stop lining the pockets of the politicians and widen all the 2- lane major thourogh fares. I pray an extra prayer every time I have to take that road as it’s one of the scariest I’ve ever driven all over the United States.

I drive this section of the highway monthly to see family - very carefully, praying the whole way, and knowing I’ve told my loved ones I love them. It shouldn’t have to be so scary. Please help make our roads safer!

Living in Ridgecrest, I travel this road often and see much unsafe behavior. The 395 was made double lane for much of the way N of Ridgecrest. It's time to do the South end! 14 fatalities in 5 months ...

I'm so sick of this highway being the way it is!! It needs more lanes!! There's already rumble strips... obviously they're not effective... There's plenty of space to add more passing lanes than the two that are there... especially the part from Kramer Junction to Adelanto.

Unfortunately, the Bureau of Land Management has found tortoise dropping in the area and this weighs more than human lives......just saying!
