Dear Los Angeles Jewish Community Leaders:
We, Los Angeles Russian Jews (community of about 100,000 Jews), ask leadership of the LA Jewish community to continue programs for the Russian Jewish Community. These programs help us to develop and enhance our Jewish identity and connect us with the organized Jewish community.
For many of us, our personal and communal Jewish growth was a direct outcome of these programs. As a result of these outreach programs provided to us by The Jewish Federation and Bureau of Jewish Education, and Ms. Feldman's personal talents and wholehearted dedication, hundreds and thousands of immigrants from the former Soviet Union rekindled their interest and passion for Jewish tradition.
We are eternally grateful to the Los Angeles Jewish community for the decades of resettlement services to the Soviet Jews and appreciate the efforts to foster meaningful relationships with the Russian Jewish Community. The continuation of the program will help us to maintain and strengthen the alliance between the organized Jewish community and the Russian Jewish Community.
We respectfully ask you to re-evaluate your terminating decisions regarding these unique, enriching programs for Russian Jews, who largely depend and count on the Jewish Federation and Bureau of Jewish Education for their support and commitment.
Thank you for your consideration.
The feedback from our community members has been overwhelming. I am currently working behind the scenes to get a meeting with the leadership.

This program helped my kids learn so much about our history. Please dont take away the only place where we feel truly connected to the rest of the community.

So sad to hear this news. These events mean everything to our family. Do the right thing and keep it going.

The work they did to help us adjust when we first arrived was amazing. We need to keep this spirit alive for the new people coming in.

TOTAL MISTAKE. These programs are vital for our culture and keeping the next generation involved. Think about the impact this has on real people.

Ms. Feldman did more for us than anyone else. Keep this running. It is ridiculous to cut support for the families who need it most.
