I lived near Lake Unions and sailed on it 2-3 times a week for the pasts few years. This is a completely unnecessary request. Seaplane service here at levels above the current levels are a nice-to-have, not a must have. This lake belongs to ALL of Seattle, not just this airplane service.

I hate that Seatac has put the entirety of Seattle in their takeoff / landing path. This will make it so much worse due to even more proximity, relatively pollution of the types of plane, and the greater noise pollution. Lake Union is used for so much more than just Kenmore Air. That can be accomplished elsewhere. There is an entire sound not far away.

My daughter rows on the lake, and we kayak there in the summer. Which brings business to the waterfront, because we're ALWAYS hungry/thirsty after!

I own a sailboat moored in Lake Union and regularly sail in the lake. I believe that any proposed restrictions to public use of this water of the state must be transparent and subject to public process and environmental review. I don't believe it is fair or legal to deprive public access to all parts of the lake so that a private business (Kenmore air) can expand their operations. It is worth noting that the size of the set-aside airstrip is a major portion of the lake area. While this size of airstrip may be compatible in larger bodies of water, making this so in Lake Union will effectively deprive the public of access to a substantial and significant portion of the public resource.
