clear cutting such a large area of so many valuable old trees is JUST SO WRONG. Please don't do it

This is a waste of tax payer dollars. I live off hwy 174. Not only is there going to be bunches of beautiful trees cut down but the poor people that own homes directly off the highway will be losing trees separating them from the highway.

I live very clos e to Hi way 174 and find it to be one one of the most beautiful roads in ou r county. I have been driving this road for over 22 years and I always marvel at the beauty and ease of driving 174. Please find a better way to spend so much money. Thanks for listening. Stan Me ckler

There is nothing wrong with Hwy 174 and certainly no need to waste any money on this short stretch of road. And there is no need for the destruction and disruption caused by this project.

I live on 174 and it's already a loud road. Also, spending so much money to change such a small section is irresponsible with taxes with no equal benefit for the expenditure.

Complete and absolute boondoggle built to solve an imaginary problem. A waste of money designed to serve the interest of god knows who, with no thought paid to the actual benefit to the community and the roadway. More nanny-state policing under the guise of 'safety' when more money should instead be spent on the empirically and colloquially more dangerous Highway 4, in driver education, roadway improvements, and enforcement.. The sheer stupidity - it boggles the mind.

A good example of bad public policy! An unneeded and unwarranted expenditure of public funds. It does not make sense...unless someone in that 2 mile stretch personally benefits!

I drive Highway 174 daily during the work week on my commute. I used to drive Highway 49, but after too many close calls, I have opted for the more rural, scenic, and safer route. I am writing in support of preserving the rural quality of this historic route. You see, wider roadways only encourage drivers to reach greater speed and take more risks--both of which will only cause more numerous and more serious accidents!

I drive this highway every week and this would be a waste of millions of dollars with very limited benefit, if any - people will just drive faster! We need to keep the scenic beauty of the highway as it is.
