No need to widen this lovely and slow-going road. Keep it a country road, tree-lined and pleasant.

Spending 28.5 million to take some of the charm out of a beautiful highway with only light to moderate traffic isn't the most effective use of tax payer's dollars.

Hwy 174 is the SCENIC Hwy...please preserve this local hwys charm....if you straighten it we'll be dealing with more automobile accidents due to excessive sports on this pristine road....

This will only make it more dangerous. Use the money to fix Hwy 49.

Wouldn't it be better to use that allotted money and focus on Hwy 49, that seems to be more dangerous than Hwy 174?

If this widening project is not modified, I as a property owner on the 2 mile portion would suffer the detrimental health and economic affects for years. More pollution from loss of my tree barrier from the highway and loss of property value from location on wide clear cut highway with increase of faster traffic.

Totally unnecessary, Lower the speed limit and have more highway patrol.

This project reeks of state overreach. All this will serve as is a revenue shakedown when they use it as a speed trap. We get our neighborhood ruined and deal with more noise so the state can make a another buck to squander? No, thanks.

Save the trees. People just need to slow down and enjoy the beauty. Making it a faster road is deadly.

CalTrans please do not ruin this beautiful highway. It should be preserved. It is a lovely drive that I have been doing for 37 years. Don't do what was done on Highway 49 between Grass Valley and Alta Sierra.

Why destroy a beautiful, fully functional road and make it so people can drive faster than they do now? Spend the money on sorting out higheay 49 where people are frequently killed

Don't do this! This will not make this road safer, but will allow increased speeds and ruin the beauty of this area. STOP!
