The United States Postal Service has officially cancelled the consolidation plans for the Flint mail plant. This outcome preserves our local jobs and ensures the timely delivery of our mail. We must remain vigilant to ensure this decision remains permanent.
The U.S. Postal Service is proposing to move Flint and the surrounding areas outgoing mail to the new Mail Processing Plant being built in Pontiac. If this is allowed to happen there will be mail delays. Flint will no longer have it\'s own Postmark. You will not have the opportunity to drop off mail in the drop boxes at the Flint Plant later in the day and still have it go out the same day. Your mail going to Saginaw will be two-day delivery instead of one-day delivery. 143 Flint jobs will be lost to Pontiac. Pontiac will enjoy a new tax base of 1200 employees while Flint loses even more jobs. Please sign this petition and forward it to everyone that lives in Flint and Saginaw\'s surrounding areas because all our mail delivery service will be afftected. JOIN THE MOVEMENT!! My mail is slow enough as it is. Moving everything to pontiac is just gonna make it worse for everyone here.
