Duffy Field is a wonderful neighborhood park and it would be a tragedy to take it away from the little kids who will eventually go to the high school. They need that play area now!

I'm all in favor of the proposed new high school in the same land footprint as the old high school. Duffy Field is where the kids who'll eventually go to that high school already play and have played for years. You can't take it away. Taking away a used neighborhood park would be an injury - to replace it with a turf field and overflow a small neighborhood full of little kids with teenage drivers would be to add insult to that injury.

Grew up playing baseball there and using that field for practice couldn’t imagine it gone. Lived in the tatnuck area for my whole life and Duffy has been there since the beginning

Wetherell Park that host the Duffy Field practice field is a public park. It is a well utilized public green space. We do not want astro-turfed fields that become locked up for permitted use only. We do not want parking lots. We want to keep the space open for all of the community, not just a select few.
