Heck no! Don't tear down the woods that have been there since I've attended this elementary! They make a really nice path to let kids get to school, take a walk, etc.

Please leave this beautiful, significant piece of Winnetka's history to continue "teaching" our children and community! This is NOT a solution. I grew up here; my children grew up here- as have so many others. Let's not take away the opportunity for those yet to come.

Crow Island Woods is a valuable nature preserve that we must protect for past, current and future Winnetka families and their children. Dumping polluted storm water within this preserve where so many children play would be criminal.

It would be very cruel of the Winnetka Park District to cut down our beloved woods, which sets Winnetka apart from other suburbs. Let's keep fighting and prevent our beautiful and sacred woods from being turned into a water basin where waste and pollution will dominate the area.

“ we live on Sunview Lane and have been fighting the good fight regarding storm water control for 18 years with little to show for it. We are disappointed that a proposal to level the Crow Island Woods is the best you can do.

I go to these woods all year round, and it is such a beautiful and interesting place to be in to feel a part of nature. One of the things that sets Winnetka apart from neighboring suburbs is the integration of a wooded park in a school and residential setting.

This woodland area was a magical place as a child. Our Crow Island School classes studied botany here and created art projects: leaf prints and sophisticated designs as part of our science currriculum. What a gift!

There has to be a way to save the woods and mitigate the flooding. There is always more than one solution to a problem

This is the wrong solution. Why did we hire engineers before talking with homeowners? The Village gave engineers a big challenge and an open check book. Of course they came back with a big solution. Why not go slower and start with a series of green improvements and select high priority fixes? The Village should not have put us in a position where we have to fight to keep our homes and community.

We have lived in the Crow Island area for 32 years. We walk this almost daily as part of our neighborhood and love this small woods within our community. Destroying the woods is a horrible idea. Let's vote for being more creative and less destructive.

I've had a flooded basement ever since our dear neighbors built a new house next door, but I'll take flooding any day over the loss of any part of our beloved Crow Island Woods!

I am a currently serving Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal. I grew up on Apple Tree Road and spent many days playing in the Crow Island Woods. I am signing this petition because I do not want to see these woods, which I know and love, cut down when I was not given the opportunity to take one last walk in them.
