I used to live right in this area. It is an oasis of nature in the midst of traffic and houses. Let nature live where it is. A restful sight for weary neighbors.

Crow Island Woods are an integral part of our children's education, a source for research and a natural habitat for many animals. This notwithstanding, I would not want the students at Crow Island School to be next to what is being proposed! I don't find that it would be a healthy environment for them, let alone the neighbors in the surrounding areas. I believe it would hamper their education.

Crow Island Woods is a beautiful red oak savanna that has been preserved by our community and should be protected in a natural state for current and future generations.

This is not the storm water solution Winnetka needs. This is not good for the environment and destroys the woods. In addition it is a water storage plan next to a school.

Crow island woods is a love of mine. It's one of Winnetka's finest uses of acreage, good for the ecosystem as well as providing villagers nice walking trails. Being so close to Crow Island elementary school, I think it's logical to keep the woods intact.

Some of the fondest memories of my childhood are from playing with my friends in the Crow Island Woods. Destroying these woods would be destroying a part of my childhood.

The notion of "Saving the Woods" goes beyond Crow Island; these woods symbolize hope. If an upscale community like Winnetka can protect its wooded environment, then so can many other communities nationwide.

This is a reckless decision. Crow Island Woods are a natural and important piece of Winnetka and it's history. The woods are a safe and healthy environment for all, including children. The woods are also a classroom for Crow Island and Skokie School and a valuable resource for the community now and in the future. Not only is it detrimental to destroy the woods, it is dangerous to put so much water near small school children. A devastating and unsafe plan. Let us find a different and better solution and not destroy or change this safe and natural resource in Winnetka. These are historical woods.

This is the one place near my home that I feel I can go and leave everything behind. Nothing else matters when I'm walking my dog through the crow island woods. Please do not take this away

Many parts of the plan have value but the Crowe Island Woods part seems to be a small part of the solution at a (too) high cost - financial and otherwise. Very concerned about putting so much water next to an elementary school - sooner or later something unintended will happen; I hope decisuon-makers are using some common sense.

Horrendous idea to destroy Crow Island Woods. Surely they can come up with more constructive plans than this! Keep the woods as they are; this space is so important to our community.

Horrifying. I spent many wonderful days in those woods with my dogs. It was a safe small place. Also its proximity to the school is alarming. Especially with the new diseases carried by mosquitoes and the possibility of children drowning.
