As part of the Schools Modernisation Programme, Powys County Council is proposing to close between 6 and 8 of the primary schools in the Gwernyfed Cluster. This means that Clyro Church in Wales Primary School is under serious threat of closure, despite its popularity, academic results and financial viability. We, the undersigned, urge Mr David Jones and his fellow councillors to keep this thriving, happy, community school open. Through this petition, we are telling Mr Jeremy Patterson, the Chief Executive of Powys County Council to listen to the community of Clyro and it's surrounding area and put a stop to any proposals or plans to close our much loved rural primary school, as we, the undersigned, are vehemently opposed to them. PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME ONTO THIS PETITION SO THAT IT CAN BE HANDED INTO POWYS COUNTY COUNCIL.

I spent the entire morning reading through the stories people are posting and it really hits home how much this school is the heart of the village. It feels like they just look at spreadsheets while we are looking at real kids losing their playground and teachers who actually know their names. I have been putting together a packet of these testimonials for the council because they need to see that this is about more than just some modern program or budget line.

I honestly never thought the momentum would pick up this fast and it is just wild to see so many people from the village and beyond standing up for our school. My phone has been buzzing non-stop and it really proves that David Jones and the rest of the council cannot just ignore what we have built here because this is so much bigger than just a few buildings.

Disgraceful. My kids go here and it is a fantastic school. Powys council needs to stop looking at spreadsheets and think about real people for once.

rural schools are all we have left. stop centralizing everything into these massive impersonal hubs. leave clyro alone.
