I graduated from Driscoll in 2011 and this sounds completely unreasonable. Teens that age use cursing in their daily language like toddlers learning how to walk. I know I did. Termination has caused more hullabaloo and disagreement than just giving Mr.Chen a warning. Mr. Chen sounds like a fantastic teacher and I hope he has the opportunity to come back if administrative relations haven't been soured by this incident.

After reading the avalanche of letters from his former students and their parents, I am convinced that Larry is a shining star of Driscoll. We already have a serious problem of middle-school teacher turnover as many leave shortly after starting. Don't aggravate it further by firing best teachers! This is particularly irresponsible on Lupini's part as he is resigning. Is this going to be his legacy?

Driscoll is extremely fortunate to have a teacher who can connect with and energize students in the way that Larry Chen does on a daily basis. Please do the right thing and insure that he can continue to bring a passion for learning to his current and future students at Driscoll.

Ok anon but Mr. Chen was the best teacher ever!! I had really bad teachers before him and for him to be fired is absurd because he was one of the best teachers at Driscoll and that I've ever had... it sounds like someone is making a biased decision

One of my all time favorite teachers. I always come to class with a smile. And i'm so grateful to have such an amazing history teacher that has made me love history. Please don't remove Mr. Chen.

I've already had a preview of Social Studies without Mr. Chen, and it is so much worse. Bring back Chen!!!!

I really really really really really really really really REALLY want Mr.Chen when I get into 7-8th grade. HE CAN'T LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's so amazing and awesome!!!

Chen is awesome. He combined what my older sister Cammile Cooke loves and lives for with History. Filmmaking. He, instead of essays, asked Cammile for videos which are combined with humour, and fact. Whatever reason he was terminated for, it's a bad one. I don't get it. As i've said to all the Brookline School Staff members and everyone who says to me "#SaveChen"

He was a great teacher! My son loved his class & really started liking school. It would be a big lost if he is no longer @ Driscoll.
Please bring back Mr. Chen!!
