My brother Morris doesn't always talk about school to me very. However, just from what I've heard of Mr. Chen over the last year, I've really desired to meet him- and thank him! I love history, but I know Morris doesn't to the same extent; I've noticed that with Mr. Chen, he gets excited about projects and puts newfound attention to history. I only wish I could have had him as a history teacher when I went to Driscoll! I think it's a glaring mistake to fire a teacher who inspires his students in unique ways, and I hope the school will realize the positive impact he's had on his past and present students and take into account his value to Driscoll.

HIstory has never been one of my favorite subjects until this year when Mr. Chen was my teacher. He is so understanding and has such inspiring classes that get me excited about going to history class everyday. The fact that he might be fired is terrible and will let down so many students.

History was one of my worst subjects before I joined mr.Chen's class. The way he inspires people and gives us different ways to think and see the world. History has become my favourite subject now,
Mr.Chen inspired me.
I am longing to learn more about History, and it won't be the same without this brilliant teacher,
mr. Chen doesen't deserve this.

It is rediculous that Mr Chen was fired. I wasn't at the school when he was a teacher but my brothers said they really enjoyed his class and just by meeting him once I understand why that class was so enjoyable for them.

I dont go to Driscoll, i don't even live in Brookline but ive heard a ton of good things about him. The reasons for him to be fired are absurd. He probably made another teacher look bad because of how good of a teacher he is. His personal life should not affect his life and it is unfair that thats happening.

Driscoll Class of 2014. This outstanding educator deserves to be in the high school, but instead chooses to teach middle school history. He is truly committed and deserves what was taken from him. As a student, our voices matter, we are YOUR customers.

Mr. Chen is one of the most amazing teachers I've ever had. I hated history before I had him, but his enthusiasm and extensive knowledge inspired me to enjoy it and see its value. Now, in high school, when faced with teachers that lack passion and true understanding of their content, I can think back to lessons with Mr. Chen and remember why history is worth learning.

When my son began the year, Mr. Chen said there would be no packets given out in class, but today they were given three. Bring back the Chen Doge!

I echo the support here for Mr. Chen. My son Wes is a student, and he is truly inspired by Mr. Chen's class and admires him as a teacher. How are we to teach our children that they can learn and grow from their mistakes if we do not allow their role models to do the same?

My son was beside himself with joy when he found out that he was to spend grade 6-7 in Mr. Chen's class. In the first month of this term he has been inspired and for the first time, adores history. If the few minor violations that we've heard are the sole reasons for sanctioning this man, then IMO suspending or firing him is frivolous and indefensible. If the inspector is due to move on and an interim school principal is in place, one wonders who is going to take the decision and defend this action? Please see the bigger picture, think of the pupils and reinstate Mr. Chen.

I think there should be a meeting with the principal or any supervisor who can really make this change! This can let the kids express themselves in a healthy way instead of putting post its all over the school!
