Ag land is very important and more importantly the education it provides. The value far supersedes just pure economics. Where does your yogurt come from?

The "Learn By Doing" model is why I came to Cal Poly. Let's give future students the ability to learn that same way.

for Cal Poly to consider using these fields for anything other than what it has been used in the past is an extremely bad idea. Who thought this up? Those fields are necessary for the dairy and for continued research and classes.

These fields are critical to the ongoing success for the College of Ag and even more directly the major of Dairy Science. Loosing this major and this land would be a wounding blow to the school. These fields are used often and promote animal welfare as well as space for public relations and positive community outreach. DO NOT TAKE THAT AWAY!

This land is very important to the Cal Poly Dairy Science program and the Cal Poly Dairy, without it. the Dairy would not be functional and students with a desire to further their career in the Dairy Industry would be turned away. I do not feel like this valuable land used to support the needs of the cattle on the Dairy should be replaced by parking lots. This land needs to be protected along with the rights of the Dairy Science Department to provide their students with a hands on learning experience.

I graduated as an AG major and can attest to the amazing things I earned in the program. I know many of our animal science programs are not profitable but the education that comes about is more important. Cal Poly has one of the best AG programs in California and it saddens me to think we want to move away from our roots. Happy cows come from California after all and happy cows need grass, not concrete.
