Let sleeping dogs lay. Cal Poly doesn't need to use agricultural land for concrete.

Cal Polys influence and leadership in educating dairy industry professionals and consumers alike across this country and the world is vital to the sustainability and affordability of our food supply. It would be a tremendous loss to diminish the value of this program.

Maintaining ground and facilities for functional agriculture programs is critical to an applied learning environment for students in agriculture studies.

As an Animal Science grad, what made my education at Cal Poly so unique was that we had authentic contact and learning with all the animals IN REALISTIC ENVIRONMENTS. You can't learn appropriately any other way but BY DOING. That includes people trying to keep Dairy alive in CA where it's dying quickly.

This land needs to remain in the agricultural program that has been so successful in developing students that have become outstanding leaders for agriculture in our state and country.

I am an undergraduate at the University of Florida, and I have been looking forward to applying to the Dairy Management Program at Cal Poly Tech. I hope that this program and land are preserved, as this school offers an incredible opportunity for students like myself.

Cal Poly is and always has been an advocate for agriculture. It is greatly disturbing to think that they would even consider developing these fields.

Agricultural programs are absolutely vital to helping students learn how to face the challenges of feeding an ever expanding population with fewer available land and resources. Relying on large companies and other colleges and universities is flawed as you decrease the number of chances students have to learn about agriculture from a different perspective with views, methods, and new ideas that may not be found elsewhere. Without knowledge of agriculture, everything else collapses - if you can't feed or clothe your population, what use are all the new buildings and programs that are being built and implemented at Cal Poly?

My dad brought his cows home from Cal Poly and started our dairy in Moss,Landing over 50 years ago. He was also instrumental in getting Leprino Foods to donate,a huge amount of funds a few years back to Cal Poly. It would be very disappointing to see this all gone. Have we forgotten that California feeds a,huge percentage of the world!
