As a recent graduate of Waynesboro High School, I am incredibly disappointed that Mr. Burtner's job would ever be at stake. His AP English class was one of my favorites. In that classroom, I was free to be myself--a young woman who loves the English language more than anything else. It was Mr. Burtner's assignments that helped me grow as a human being and have a better appreciation of literature. It would be a horrible misjustice to the students of WASD if they were to lose yet another amazing teacher; after all, McCann, Seiler, Hollen, etc have all already retired. Allow Mr. Burtner to keep teaching!
