The stories shared by former students in the comments continue to reflect the profound influence Giovanni Biasin has had on our academic community. These accounts demonstrate that his teaching extends far beyond the classroom and serves as a primary reason for many of us to pursue our studies in Italian. I am currently working to organize these testimonies into a formal presentation for the department administration.

He helped me so much with my thesis. Prof Biasin needs to stay at Berkeley.
Giovanni is seriously the best professor I have had here. He makes Italian so easy to learn and actually cares if we show up to class. UCB is making a huge mistake.
Why would you let go of someone who actually knows how to keep students engaged? Bring him back.
Im so sad to hear this. His lectures were the highlight of my semester. Please reconsider.
Ridiculous decision. Everyone I know loves his class. Bad move admin.

This is total garbage. He is a legend in the dept. RENEW HIS CONTRACT RIGHT NOW
