Just heard they are closing HSBC bank in Bewdley. At this rate there will be nothing left of this town. With them closing both the bank and fire station all that is left in this town is hair shops and pubs. Its not like its easy these days getting to Kiddy with the bus service being so crap!, so what are all the older people of Bewdley going to do.

HSBC is a very big global bank with huge interests outside the UK. Profit is all important for the bank and its shareholders .Afraid it's a symptom of the age we live in.
So small towns,who need a bank,are not important to them,not generating enough profit.
Such a shame.
As for Internet banking,which they think everyone should be using in small towns,is not what everyone wants,or is able to cope with.a Also just how safe is Internet banking these days,despite all the security,as shown with recent large scale scams.
We have a small business,and have used the bank,and it's friendly staff for years.
Such a pity, and a backward step for the town.

I've only visited Bewdley once and was very impressed by this beautiful town. It would be so wrong to close down the Bank and sheer stupidity to move the Fire Station further away. PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!! I hope one day, I can come back to Bewdley for another visit.

Disgusting that Bewdley will be left without a Bank in the town let alone only 1 24hr cashpoint. We are a tourist town and will do the trade no good if there is no money available

This is the only remaining bank in Bewdley. Considering Bewdley is such an attractive town and has many visitors throughout the year, I would have thought that having an ATM machine to promote spending in the town would have been of utmost importance. This of course is apart from the fact that many residents actually do bank at HSBC

We need this bank as a small town. Not everyone can get into Kidderminster whenever they need their bank. Also the buses are only every hour by the time you wait and get there and wait for the bus to come back most of the day has gone!

Bewdley bank serves a large area and all ages. It is needed, people would have to travel miles extra to use one.
