This is not the 1st time they have tried to control the park, in the late 90s they wanted to put township fields. A complete disregard for the terms of the will!

Ashbridge Park is rare in providing recreation for and green space for all ages and interests, from a romping area for kids to a quiet place for strolling or reading. We babysitting grandparents couldn’t live without it.

That park drew me to this neighborhood 15 years ago when I moved here 15 years ago. My four children have used that park for all of those years. Ashbridge Park is an important part of our community.

As a Township resident, who lives nowhere near Ashbridge Park, I have loved & used this park for MANY years. I feel it is unthinkable for our mismanaged school district to even remotely consider any attempt to break the deed (what does this say to others in the future who may want to deed their property to the Township?), to put schools or school-related structures in the park (including athletic fields). Ashbridge sometimes feels like one of the few natural open spaces left in the area. And to have the legal will of the people who donated the property be bypassed is outrageous. Just because the School District has poorly planned for many years for the growing student population of the Township does NOT mean we should lose actively loved & used parks that have been around for decades.

I am disheartened to hear of the plans to try and turn this park into a school. Not only would it take away a green space used by the members of this community, you would be breaking the deed and wishes of the family who bestowed the space to the township. Incredibly disrespectful.

Open space is a premium in the already crowded mainline. In addition to environmental concerns the the creek that runs along the park, the park is a vital place for the community to run (trail), play (open fields and playground), walk their dogs, and enjoy the large open grassy expanses.
Although sites for a new school must be hard to come by, it would be an irreversible mistake the take the public space away from the public.

I was very upset to hear that this beautiful park might be considered to be used for the LM school district. I grew up in that area, and have many fond memories of the park, and I know it is a huge benefit for the citizens who use it now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE OPPOSE ALTERING THE DEED!!!

Mrs. Ashbridge's will should certainly be honored. Also, it is an ideal area for walking, children to utilize the playground equipment. also, there is a school and college very near and this could create traffic congestion. Thank you for listening to people's requests.

Our Outdoor space, parks and green spaces are what makes Lower Merion one of the most valuable neighborhoods and townships. We do not need to eliminate parks, green space - re purpose building instead. Be kind to the environment - keep the green !
