We, the residents of Ditmas Park West and its environs, petition the City Planning Commission to adopt the R-3X designation as they consider rezoning. This would allow only one and two family detached homes and limit the floor-area-ratio to 50 percent. We feel this is the ideal designation to preserve our neighborhood as built.
The next public meeting with the Commission is June 12, 2008 at 7 PM, at PS 249 (Caton Avenue bet. Marlborough & Rugby Roads).
Seeing the momentum grow behind this effort helps when the process feels endless and exhausting. It is clear that we are not alone in wanting to protect the character of these streets. I am drained but I am not stopping now.

The density in this part of Brooklyn is getting way too high. Leave the block as it is.
