Reject the Special Permit for 1442 Main St., West Concord, MA

This development plan is a real slap in the face of Concord residents.

This project has distressing ramifications; don't let this happen in West Concord. Consider restrictions that towns like Carlisle and Lincoln put on development, Concord is irresponsible to allow this kind of destruction.

I am opposed for many reasons: environmental, noise from MBTA and trucking, loss of trees, ruining of beautiful land.

This development has too many negatives to be worth the cost to the community and, therefore, the permit request should be denied. Thank you.

The development project clearly damages the environment. Does it do any good to Concord residents?

Excessive environmental damage! Not worth it to Concord.

This project is inappropriate and destructive to West Concord. This developer should change the plan or take his/ her project elsewhere.

This project is counter to Concord's sustainability goals

This would destroy the land's ability to sequester carbon, build new carbon-producing housing, and attract citizens who don't care about climate change to our town.

Preserve our town and natural environment.

The proposed development is a terrible idea. It's environmentally unsound and will ruin the character of West Concord.

Please do not approve this development. It would be bad for West Concord, for all of the reasons listed in the petition.

The last thing West Concord needs is more traffic. The truck hauling traffic on Main Street is horrible already, never mind adding to daily work schedule traffic, Off o Main Street right now there are 3 new housing developments being constructed. 1. Intersection of Main and ORNAC 2. Highland and Main 3. Main at Riverwalk. This has to stop.

Reject it. This is a terrible proposal that in no way makes West Concord better.

For all of the reasons stated in the petition, I urge the Zoning Board of Appeals to deny the developer’s request for a special permit for the oversized, environmentally unsound development at 1442 Main St. Allowing it to go forward will cause permanent harm to West Concord and create a dangerous precedent. Such an out of scale project would never be permitted in Concord center and should never be permitted in West Concord

We support these efrorts

Our environment will be endangered by this proposal. That means that people, animals, and other living things will develop illnesses. In addition, West Concord will become another “Cambridge”. Our community will lose its identity and will lose its open space.w

This project would remove an earth sound barrier to train noise and the removal of the trees would also lead to the loss of $314,000 per year in heating costs, as was shown by Ellen Quackenbush. Please stop it.

Why is this town so concerned about regulating additions of exiting properties and their footprint/easement but somehow is ok with allowing densely packed, identically constructed cookie cutter homes to be built on lots that are just big enough for the house? Destroying land & trees in a town whose very history is centered on living within the bounds of nature makes zero sense...especially when the tradeoff is to allow for densely packed homes, identically constructed homes. The only green initiative this exemplifies is $ NOT the environment. There are enough of these in Concord already - we do not want anymore.

As a life long resident of Concord, the last thing we need is more traffic, more noise and, perhaps most importantly, more clear-cutting and abuse of our precious natural resources. Please do NOT approve this egregious assault on our wildlife and to our community.
