Reject the Special Permit for 1442 Main St., West Concord, MA

This subdivision is an affront to the spirit of Concord's character.

This project would impose outrageous costs on the community of Concord, and the planet as a whole, to enhance the financial benefit of a few. It is exactly the sort of development that needs to stop immediately, here and everywhere. There are far better practices that can be applied instead. Our town has put an excellent set of Sustainability Principles in place, but that won't mean anything if we allow them to be trampled.

This project is too large and not appropriate for the community

As a direct abutter to the development, I am greatly concerned about the deforestation and earth removal, especially as there is no net gain for the Concord community.

This project is way too large and not appropriate for route 62 or the neighborhood.

It will create too much congestion in the neighborhood, and a great deal of noise due to construction, and loss of trees.

We are residents of Main St. with young children and are strongly opposed to the granting of this special permit. The health and character of the neighborhood will clearly be adversely impacted. Please reject granting this permit.

Over the years, Concord has proven its commitment as a town to preserving natural resources and promoting the common good. For example, several years ago, we passed a Town Meeting resolution banning the sale of single-serving bottled water, despite opposition from big corporations that valued profit over environmental concerns. This situation should be no different. A project which requires the removal of so many trees and so much soil, which emits so much pollution in removing the trees and soil, and which leads to the loss of carbon sequestered by those trees, does not serve the goals that were set out in our Sustainability Principles and the Climate Change and Resiliency Plan. It enriches the developers at too great a cost to the community. Please reject the special permit.

I am appalled to learn the particulars of the devastating impact this development would have on the health of Concord residents, and the integrity of the town's sustainability goals.. It must not go forward.

keep West Concord as village

Save the trees. Think and act with long term best interest.

Stop cutting our mature healthy trees and preserve our environment. Global warming is not a conspiracy theory, it is our responsibility to do what we can and save our environment for future generations. Or is Concord drives electric just a big hoax??

This project MUST NOT CONTINUE. STOP IT NOW!!!

Keep Concord clean and historic

Developing this property is like working with a blank canvas. Concord residents are usually forward thinking. Think of how attractive this property will look in the future with the guidance of an expert landscape architect.

As new residents of West Concord we are very hopeful that this development plan will not be approved.

This is a very poorly thought out development proposal that is contrary to the letter and so irit of Concord’s sustainability goals.

Earth removal plan is beyond comprehension and the spirit of the bylaw.
