This attempted change by Housing is fundamentally opposed to the University's mission and would ultimately transform ND's greatest dorm into the type of apartmentment-housing you find at secular universities around the country.

In my time in Zahm I have come to realize that the common rooms exist for far more than social gatherings, and are a representation of the tight-knight brotherhood that is Zahm House.

the common rooms are the single most unifying aspect of the dorm....screw the events and everything else, as a freshman knowing i could always walk down the hall to the five mans to hang out gave me a REAL feeling of community...by making friends with them it was much easier to get acquainted with everyone in the dorm as they had been thru it all the year before....to get rid of them would be to alienate freshman, the ones who need to feel part of the community the most

To whom it may concern: I'm at Disney World right now and your choice to fuck with that which need not be fucked with is ruining the magic, for me and all the children here. Ruining the magic is uncool, so stop. Do it for the kids. Sincerely, but not respectfully... me.

I strongly urge you to not eliminate one of the greatest sources of community building our dorm possesses.

Zahm has been my home for the last four years of my life. I've been a part of the very rooms that might be taken apart. I speak genuinely and from my heart. Please do not change these rooms. They are where our brotherhood is formed.

As a member of HOUSE Staff, I can't take yet another major change in the House. I'm exhausted. I can't do this anymore. Please reconsider this another time, but not now.

As a future RA for Zahm, I know eliminating common rooms is not a smart decision.

Getting to know and taking advice from the upperclassmen living in the common rooms of Zahm made my transition to college easier than I could have imagined. I am afraid that taking away these gathering spaces would ruin these invaluable relationships for future freshmen classes.
