I am trying desperately to eliminate images that promote self-harm/self-hate/depression/eating disorders from our social media websites: Tumblr, Facebook, WeHeartIt, etc. by introducing compulsory filtering systems on the aforementioned sites.

So far, I have got my school to participate in self-harm awareness, but I need more support! Please click the link below and sign. You could be saving someone from turning to cutting to deal with their depression, when reallyIknowthere are better ways of coping. You can help encourage them to receive the help they need. I know that these pictures may seem like a way of venting, but it just means someone else sees them and thinks that it's a good way for them to cope.

All I need are 1,000 signatures (to start with), and then we can take it from there!

Thank you for your support, and I hope you can help me spread the word <3

Reaching this point has been exhausting but watching the momentum grow gives me the energy to keep pushing forward. It is difficult to see how much pain is out there yet I am grateful we are finally acknowledging the need for real change.

It is honestly terrifying how easy it is for kids to find these images. Protect the users instead of just caring about profits.

THESE SITES NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!! It is way to easy to find this content and it is putting so many young people at risk.

Agree 100%. Social media sites turn a blind eye to this way to often.

seeing this stuff on my dash every single day is so triggering. it needs to be filtered out so kids dont have to see it just scrolling through.
