Please look at other alternatives to reducing garden plot size and number. We need more garden space, not less!

Don’t do away with something that offers people structure, socializing, and GROWING THEIR OWN FOOD. Growing your own food is a massive reclamation of space in our capitalist society.

Community gardens are great for our communities because they teach sustainability agriculture, and connect you with the land in a means to grow goods you may normally cannot buy or have access to, such as organic produce. Please keep our community gardens open.

Community gardens are an integral part of many families eating locally and sustainably. It's important to have these spaces for families to teach their children to grow food.
Not to mention low income families who are able to provide their families with more vegetables and fruits at a much lower cost than super markets.

The Yanonali Community Garden is a treasure for the entire Eastside neighborhood; children love roaming its paths; while many gardeners share their seasonal produce—that is locally sourced, sustainably grown, and organic—with friends and neighbors as well as their families. This garden’s legacy includes helping lower income residents grow and enjoy fresh produce. The park doesn’t need to infringe upon this community space that is much needed.
