I have 2 young children and we have and continue to rely on this service at Wood Road. To close the surgery woukd hugely restrict acess to health services which MUST be available to the public from whose pockets the NHS draw. The result of declining services elsewhere as a result of closures is a grim picture we should be seeking to avoid at all costs, particularly so with a growing population. I strongly support this petition.

I attended the meeting, it was sad to listen .The elderly wheel chair bound people talking about the difficulties they already have. It was heartbreaking.

My Mom who is 75 will be significantly impacted by this closure. Visits to this surgery will no longer be a simple walk down the road but a bus journey and a walk across a busy junction with no zebra or pelican crossing. The return journey will involve a significant uphill walk followed by then having to cross the very busy Tettenhall Road again where there is no zebra or pelican crossing in close proximity. This closure is not only creating immediate distress and depriving the provision of a surgery for the local community it is also creating a health inequality for those who are frail, elderly, anxious, disabled and all those that rely on public transport. Furthermore, as well as the proposed closure impacting healthcare delivery in the community the journey itself on public transport to Lower St will put lives at risk. This is a prime example of profit being put before people and in no way enhances the service to the local community or indeed considers its needs.

I have been a patient at Wood Rd surgery since moving to the area in 1988. I am happy to go to lower green surgery while I can still drive but otherwise it will mean me taking taxis as there are no direct bus routes there from where I live .

I have used this surgery for 40 years and it would be a great shame to close it. It is easy for elderly residents like my self to get to. There are residents that can't travel far so would be unable to use a surgery further away hence their heath and well being would suffer, not to mention the families with young children who become unwell.

My elderly parents would have trouble accessing the surgery at Lower Green. Given the number of elderly residents, with more accommodation having been built, there will be many others in the same situation.

This surgery is essential for the many elderly people who live in this area and also young mothers who do not have access to a car and would have to either walk or take the bus to Lower Green surgery.
Will there be extra doctors there to deal with the increase in patients?
The carpark at Lower Green is not very big - where will those who can drive, park?

I feel it would be very difficult for many people to lose this surgery. For those without cars waiting around for buses which would be particularly bad in winter.
Also those with cars would add to the already busy car park at lower green and the traffic jam coming up to the lights where the school is.

IT WILL BE VERY BAD IF THIS SURGERY IS CLOSED - NOT EVERYONE HAS A CAR - RELATIVES WITH A CAR OR ABLEBODIED ENOUGH TO CATCH 1 TO 2 BUSES. THE LOWER GREEN SURGERY CAR PARK IS ALREADY OVERFLOWING AND SPILLING OUT INTO THE LOCAL ROADS MAKING IT DANGEROUS AT TIMES WITH PEOPLE DARTING IN AND OUT OF HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES AND CARS ETC. WE ARE GOING BACKWARDS IN TIME AND MAKING THINGS LESS ACCESSIBLE TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.
