Wilson Keahi born and raised in the Mala area of Lahaina,Maui has operated a boat yard near Mala boat ramp since 1981.He obtained an R.P (Revocable permit)to do land scape and storage for small boats and vessels.When he first got the property it was basically a dirt hole which he had to invest more than a million dollars to fill land ,pave ,build office ,rock walls ,electric lines, water meter,and also a drainage septic tank,Wilson also had to acquire a his permit to legally provide boat storage.
Now after all of these improvements the state accepted an offer from another party (Al Pelayo A&K Ventures).because of public interest in the property and issued Mr.Keahi a notice to vacate by Jan 31,2017.He has provided services to the boating community for many years and they really appreciate what he has done for them. All the hard work he puts in to keep the property beautiful.The boating community and the community in general couldn't imagine him not being there anymore.
Many Lahaina community members worked with Mr. Keahi in helping him build this property and would be devastated to see him lose it.Members of the community support and appreciate the hard work he has put in for the last 35 years to create and maintain this boat yard and would really like to see him continue. One hundred signatures are on the board and the state needs to wake up and see that this community is not going to let them hand Wilson’s life work over to A&K Ventures. We built this boat yard with our own hands and we are not backing down until the bureaucrats stop this eviction.

Let Wilson Keahi keep his boatyard. He has invested in this land and assists the boating community with a necessary storage space for vessels that would not otherwise be available.
Please help my dad , He has worked very hard and spent his hard earned money to build this business from the ground up . Literally . His grounds have been clean , well kept like no one else could . love and respect for the Hawaiian . Mahalo Noreen
Money has to stop placing themselves wherever they want to. Soon everything will be corporate ran, Hawaii will not feel like Hawaii anymore if this keeps on going. This is wrong to push someone out of where he has resided for 35 years. Lahaina is a fisherman town and uncle Wilson is a big party of that history.
Sometimes it is best to leave it be. Wilson has gone through all the legal obstacles, created a home away from home for those boat owners. A boat is like one's home, it takes lots of responsibility to keep it safe. Wilson did it for years..let it be..
Who is this "3rd Party?" We in Lahaina are sick and tired of getting the "Shaft!!" I support Mr. Wilson Keahi. He has done tremendous things at the Mala Boat ramp. This community stands behind him.
Can’t see it in agreedy mans hands, how dare the state kick out one Hawaiian, God is in control
It is certainly a shame after someone has spent 35 years working there to take away this from them.

Leave land in the hands of the people who have been the land's stewards for generations. These are the people who keep the best interest of the aina in their hearts. Political and financial bullying are not acceptable means of securing what is desired by another group of people.
