It's not an exaggeration to say that William Blake's work not only brings joy to heighten my best days, but has helped me to live through the sorrows of my worst. I know that I am not alone in this. His last remaining residence in London should be there as both a legacy for our collective future, and a beacon of inspiration for people of today who live, work and pass through the city, helping us all to appreciate his life and work more deeply, so we can live like Blake, 'in Eternity's Sunrise'.

As the last remaining property of this incredibly inspirational British writer and artist, William Blake deserves the same, if not more respect given to other cultural icons such as Dickens and Handel who have buildings in their names. Blake's visionary influence is far-reaching across the world and he should be honoured accordingly. 'Jerusalem' is our unofficial National Anthem and yet all of his homes have been or are being destroyed...how can that be justified??
