To many trees are cut down for no good reason.They should not be cut down just to make authorities life easier.

It would be a real shame to lose these trees. We live next to the park and see so many people picking and making use of the fruit.

Does nobody trip over stones/pebbles? It is not a reason to fell a lovely fruitful tree. I saw it’s stump today when looking out of my window and was appalled to learn why it had been felled - already, with no consultation apparently.

The reason is not clear from the minutes and there are strong views from a large number of residents. I believe the loss of so many trees would be detrimental to the park and should not be taken unless absolutely essential (rather than other management approaches)

The apple trees were part of the original planting scheme, and give welcome diversity(and nice apples). Westwood is a rural parish in an area of outstanding NATURAL beauty.
Suburban people who wish for an urban landscape by felling mature fruit trees should move elsewhere.

As residents of neighbouring village we know Westwood Park well and urge the Council to rethink the felling of these apple trees.

No matter how they got there, the apple trees enhance the park. Would you remove a rainforest because it's self-seeded? What evidence exists of the tripping hazard? Please state how many people have been injured by tripping over apples in the last year.

There is a climate and nature emergency as declared by Wiltshire county council. Trees need to be saved wherever possible.

Leave the trees and use the money saved, to help someone do something positive in the Nursery building - like run a nursery maybe?
