The suggestion that these fruit trees may be felled due to the fruit they bare becoming a hazard to pedestrians is beyond ridiculous. I trust that the council will feel suitably embarrassed when they see the error in their proposed actions.

Please don't cut down the apple trees - they are part of community life

Gladly signed! Just a few trees, but so much joy for a village. Self-seeded does not mean unwanted!

Please save these beautiful trees, they are not a trip hazard, they belong to the community and are beneficial to the environment.

Oh dear - trip hazard! Living in the country involves coping with 'trip hazards' just about anywhere you walk. People enjoy these trees year round from blossom through to fruit . The 'trip hazard' fallen apples also provide a great food source of birds through the winter. Please leave them alone. F Ferne 154 Avoncliff.

We live in Trowbridge and regularly visit Westwood for walks, the scarecrow trails and to visit the pub. We love the park and and consider the planned act to remove these trees unnecessary. It may be a cheap option in the short term and reduce future maintenance, but the removal of any tree should be considered as an absolute last resort. The park and tress should be enjoyed in years to come and nature benefits all. Please do not cut down these trees. Thank you.

It is vandalism to destroy healthy trees, especially ones enjoyed by the community.

Do you not realise what a ridiculous decision this is - we need MORE trees planted, not destroyed, how have people coped all these years, do you not realise how you are portraying yourself as a nanny Parish Council - you should be ashamed of yourselves - look at the press coverage all over the country.
