Killing wild animals that are already in decline and for the sake of bad science and careless and cruel farming methods is horrendous in its callousness and irresponsibility. It is time that this government did something positive for the environment for a change. After all, you did declare yourselves 'the greenest government ever'. Where's proof of this?

Bovine TB is an industry problem that has spread to wildlife. Vaccinate the wildlife and improve animal husbandry DO NOT KILL THE WILDLIFE.

You can't ignore the science--the badger cull is not supported by science. It is ineffective and inhumane.

Stop the cull vaccinate Badgers in all hotspots build herd immunity in Badgers, persecuted enough even in 2014 work on Vaccine for cows properly & get EU to allow cattle export for vaccinated cattle

I am so angry that this gov is determined to go ahead with culling badgers despite all evidence shows its: inhumane, ineffective, majority of public oppose killing of our wildlife!

I live out of the area but this cull will potentially effect us all. Cruelty towards animals should never be sanctioned in a civilised society. Culling will not solve bTB in cattle but vaccination will.

No basis for culling badgers Defra don't even know incidence of bovine TB and say figures given will have to be revised significantly downwards for 2012 and 2013. Already fallen steeply due to cattle measures

Bovine TB is caused by cattle to cattle transmission. Even if every badger was culled bTB would still occur. Culling badgers is a complete waste of money and is in danger of eradicating a protected species.
