DONT take ROTC away! Take away some other stupid class like playing instruments before taking away such a great disciplinary class!

This class teaches respect, growth, patience, strength, etc. It helps children physically, mentally, and emotionally to prepare for the real world. It provides structure.

Keep this important program! It helps so many young people even helping some to achieve a full college scholarship. Why is it that programs are eliminated that actually teach young people important life skills??

The school worked hard to get JROTC back in 94-95. I would hate to see it go so easily.

This program saved my life, literally.
If I hadn't experienced this in highschool I would not be active duty right now serving my country. Don't take this away from other students. It teaches you to be proud of the work you do. Teaches you discipline as well as integrity.
Keep it in the school!!!

Keep this program!!! Seriously, it changes lives and is one of the main reasons I graduated West Montgomery as valedictorian, went to college on an AFROTC scholarship and now serve my country. In just 6.5 years since being Active Duty, I've had 4 assignments, 1 deployment, have traveled all over the US, Europe, and Asia, and have met people from all over the world. It's been amazing--please don't take this kind of opportunity away from today's high school students...

I didn't attend this school, but JROTC was a huge part of my success as a young person. Don't get rid of it, to some of these kids its the only family they have.

Main reason I joined the Air Force was because of this course. The values it instilled in me made me the person I am. Why rid yourself of something that has had such an impact on many students lives. This is an insult and basic disregard to those who have answered our nation's call to serve.

Jrotc molded and guided me to become one of our nations finest 1% United States Army, it is such a great program that's instilled discipline in all students that were a part of the class along with having activities on weekends that kept many students from participating in any bad situation. I think all students should have to take the class so they can be tought respect.

Coming from a student who never even took ROTC, this program does not need to be taken out of West. I have personally seen it change students lives and think it is wonderfil.

I had 3 generation of my children to go through ROTC, and they was well known to the community. I myself worked for Montgomery County Schools and know they interest was always to strive for the best of children. I lost my son Lorenzo Ponce De Leon he was in the Army and he the one to win all of the trophies for drill team, he was known to be the best! Also had a son Zeek Perez and he was Montgomery County Quadarnt Commander he was in charge of everything! Also had my daughter Nina Perez that was also on the drill team. ROTC is great for our young adults to prepare them for their next journey with discipline and respect. And that's what our kids are missing today. I and my husband was very involved and Colonel Obey was the best and Sgt. Riggs and when they left it went down hill cause Colonel really care about our children and was always there for them. So please don't get rid of ROTC because it matters and plays a big roll for those that gets in the programs and need that strive!!!

AFJROTC should definitely stay at West Montgomery High. I understand it will not be the same without Lt. Col. Thomas W. Ovbey

AFJROTC was a big part of my high school life. I still have amazing friends today that i met thru ROTC at west. not only did it help me in meeting friends, but it also allowed all of us to help out the community. with trash pick up on hwy 109, to helping out the elementary school kids with their school work. we helped out with the football games, and we also showed our school pride with the drill meets and military balls. NC-9511 AFJROTC will always be a part of who i am and it has helped me grow as an individual. but it is not selective of me. it has helped so many other cadets grow into decent adults today. many of which have gone on to serve this country in the military, or public service. taking this class away is taking what little we have in moco away. I spent all 4 years of high school in AFJROTC, and i always thought that it would be home. but now 10 years later i find that it too is being taking away. this is home to so many. why take that away too? please keep this class going.
Was never a member but had friends who loved it!
